Is your chimney falling apart? Worried it might be dangerous? You’re in the right place.
If you’ve noticed crumbling bricks, water leaking inside your home, or your chimney pulling away from the house, you need expert help. Red Brick Chimney Services has been rebuilding chimneys across Lower Mainland since 2013.
Here’s how to tell if you need a complete reconstruction instead of just repairs:
You probably need a full rebuild if:
Large sections of brick are crumbling or falling off
Your chimney is leaning or separating from your house
Water keeps leaking into your home even after repairs
The top of your chimney (the crown) is broken apart
A home inspector said your chimney is unsafe
You might just need repairs if
Only a small area is damaged
The problem is just at the very top
You caught the issue early
Not sure which one you need? We’ll come look at your chimney for free and give you an honest answer. Sometimes repairs work fine, and we’ll tell you that. We only recommend rebuilding when it’s truly necessary.
This is probably your biggest question. Here’s the honest answer:
Most chimney rebuilds in Vancouver cost between $8,000 and $25,000 depending on the height of your chimney, how much damage there is, and what materials you choose.
Your free estimate includes:
A complete inspection of your chimney
Exactly what work needs to be done
Clear pricing with no hidden fees
How long the job will take
Photos and explanations you can understand
We offer senior discounts and can discuss payment options that work for your budget.

Outstanding Chimney Brick Repair! I hired Red Brick Chimney to repair the brickwork on my dad’s 75-year-old house, and I couldn’t be happier. Mike was professional, punctual, and clearly experienced. He carefully assessed the damage, explained the work, and gave a fair estimate — unlike other companies that wanted to remove and cap the old chimney for more money.
Mike’s repair was excellent: the bricks were repointed, mortar joints reinforced, and metal mesh added to keep animals out. He worked safely, cleaned up daily, and kept us updated throughout.
I’m extremely satisfied with the quality and service. Mike went above and beyond — my dad’s old chimney looks brand new again! Highly recommend Red Brick Chimney Ltd.

We needed some help with a chimney removal and Mike was great. Easy to reach, prompt, reasonable, helpful and professional. Good guy, good work, best price of anyone we talked to.

Mike asked for a 500$ deposit and wanted the cheque written in his name not the company
Furthermore he estimated the job at 3000 which should of been under warranty
We got estimates from other companies which all came under 800$
Not a way to do business especially with a 90 year old pensioner
STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOK

I have never experienced this before. Mike wrote on an email that he will come between 2-3pm to inspect our chimney. He arrived half an hour late and did not even bother to call ahead and tell me he was going to be late. I actually thought he wasn't going to show up at all.
He took a quick look from the outside and I showed him the area where water damage is. He provided a recommendation on what needs to be done, and when I ask him if there are other possibilities that the water could get in, what is included in the cost and if there other alternative solutions. He got all defensive, he said if I don't trust him then I should hire someone else for the job. I told him that he is the expert but I want to make sure the repair is done properly. He got upset, walk away in the middle of the conversation, and drove away in his car.
I understand he came out on a Saturday to work and didn't charge a fee for an inspection. I would have hired him for the job if he hasn't acted unprofessionally. I was skeptical after reading poor reviews from other people, now I understand why.

Good work and honest pricing but room for improvement.
Our chimney was repointed and capped in May 2018. Service at that time and workmanship on a whole was satisfactory (their work was even complimented on by another chimney person... So there you go!).
My only critique or watch out - support/service post-work completion needs improving. I found them defensive instead of empathetic, reluctant instead of proactive. They didn't help me with my problem (water ingress) and instead my roofing guy identified the issue and addressed it even though they didn't do the chimney work.
Efficiency 5/5
Cleanliness 5/5
Quality 4/5
Service 3/5
Price 5/5

Not only did Mike take 6 MONTHS to "repair" my Chimney (after he told me it would be about 5 weeks), but the first time it rained it was leaking just like before. When I asked him about the 10 year Guarantee he gave me, he told me I had to spend another $800 to seal it and his guarantee only applied if the masonry fell down. Why on earth did I pay to have him repoint my chimney, replace the pots and put in new flashing if it wasn't going to solve the problem that I had? Couldn't be more disappointed.

Mike @ Red Brick was good to deal with. He provided me an estimate that was clear and detailed the work needed. He was very in tune with what had to be done to my aging chimneys. ( I had a issues with one chimney leaking water at the base after heavy rain)
Mike looked at the chimneys while I was not around so I asked him to swing by and explain the scope of work and explain the estimate. He dropped by a couple days later. I booked him right away before fall ! I was impressed with the great job he did over all. My chimneys look way better. The new flashing looks good and I’m confident the leaking issue is fixed. He gave me a written warrenty. I would highly recommend Mike and Red Brick Chimney !

Why YourChimney Matters
A damaged chimney isn’t just ugly—it’s actually dangerous
Safety risks
Cracks can let deadly carbon monoxide into your home. Damaged chimneys can catch fire more easily.
Water damage
When water gets into your chimney, it ruins the inside of your walls, damages your ceiling, and can cause mold.
Heating problems
A broken chimney doesn’t draft properly, making your fireplace or furnace work poorly.
Your home’s value
A crumbling chimney makes your house harder to sell and lowers its value. Home inspectors will flag it as a major issue.
Fixing it now prevents bigger, more expensive problems later.
We’ve been working in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and the Tri-Cities since 2013. We know the building codes, the weather challenges, and how to match bricks on older heritage homes.
We’re Certified & Accredited
BBB Accredited and WorkSafe BC Certified. We do things the right way.
We Guarantee Our Work
If something goes wrong because of our workmanship, we fix it. That’s our promise.
We’re Honest
We won’t sell you a full rebuild if repairs will do the job. We give you the truth about what your chimney needs.
How do I know if my chimney is dangerous right now?
If you see large cracks, leaning, or pieces falling off, stop using your fireplace immediately and call us. These are signs of serious structural problems.
Can you match the brick on my old house?
Yes. We specialize in matching bricks for heritage and character homes. We’ll find bricks that blend perfectly with your existing masonry.
Will my insurance cover this?
Sometimes. If the damage was caused by a storm, fire, or sudden event, your insurance might cover it. Gradual wear and tear usually isn’t covered. We can provide documentation for your insurance claim.
Do I have to move out during the work?
No. We work from the outside, so you can stay in your home. There will be some noise, but most homeowners continue their normal routines.
What if it rains during the rebuild?
We protect your home with tarps and coverings. If heavy rain is forecasted, we’ll pause work to ensure quality and protect your interior.
